ZEBRA BANANAS

Fluffy dough, whipped cream, banana, and chocolate- it can't get better! This recipe is a basic one and you can easily add other ingredients like nuts or marzipan. We start with a light, airy dough that is super quick to make, use half a banana, and assemble everything with cream and chocolate. For the decor, you can choose whether you want to cover the whole banana or sprinkle some chocolate on top (that's the zebra look).

Let's get started!

RECIPE:

Ingredients: (for 6 bananas)

  • 50g flour
  • 25g cornstarch
  • 60g sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • Vanilla extract and a pinch of salt
  • a splash of warm water
  • 3 bananas
  • 100g dark chocolate
  • 50g heavy cream
Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 190°C/374°F.
  2. Separate the eggs.
  3. Beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff. Then add half of the sugar (30g) and continue to beat for another minute.
  4. Add the remaining sugar, vanilla extract, and warm water to the egg yolks and beat the mixture for 4-5 minutes until light in color.
  5. Sift flour and cornstarch into the egg yolk mix and slowly incorporate it with a rubber spatula.
  6. Fold in the stiff egg whites and transfer the dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. You can spread it to 0,3-0,5 cm.
  7. Bake the dough for 8 minutes until golden brown, then let it cool.
  8. Meanwhile, beat the heavy cream and cut the bananas horizontally in half.
  9. Place the bananas on the dough and cut around the edges, so you get a piece of dough in the same shape as the bananas.
  10. Repeat with all 6 bananas.
  11. Spread some heavy cream on each piece of dough, before you top it with the bananas.
  12. Melt the chopped chocolate with a splash of oil and sprinkle it on top of your zebra bananas.
  13. Enjoy!

THE BEST BROWNIES: fudgy chocolate dream

Have you ever dreamed of fudgy, chocolatey Brownies?  Well, I have THE recipe that you're looking for. I changed some classic techniques and replaced a part of some of the most known ingredients to make the Brownies taste even better. So, if you want the perfect chocolate treat -jump to the recipe here. But I would appreciate if you read the following instructions to improve your Brownie -skills.  Let's go! What are the basic ingredients? For the perfect Brownies, you'll need: Butter and Coconut oil: the coconut oil gives the whole batter a really nice texture and makes the taste of the chocolate even more intense. Butter is one of the most basic but at the same time most important ingredients. To  create the fudgy consistency, we use melted butter and coconut oil . Chocolate: a Brownie without chocolate isn't a Brownie, right? So make sure to use high-quality chocolate with a high percentage of cocoa (70-80%). Sugar: I used a mixture of normal, g...

Raspberry Apricot Cake

The perfect cake for summer is soft, fluffy and has lots of fruits in it - at least, that is my opinion. I love topping it with vanilla whipped cream and serve it with an iced coffee.  Now, if you would like to enjoy a cake like that - I would suggest you try this raspberry apricot cake. It's easy to make ( another one-bowl recipe, yay!), fluffy and soft, and involves the fresh flavors of raspberries and apricots. I top it with some brown sugar to make it even more delicious. Because I am using an 18 cm / 7" pan, this cake bakes a long time in the oven. So, if you do not want to wait that long (which I can totally understand..) I would suggest using a larger pan. The base recipe for this cake is by redcurrantbakery - I used her basic vanilla cake and made my twists accordingly. The original recipe is linked here . Himbeer-Aprikosen Kuchen

Das Or...
